During the Viking Age the Kingdom of Norway included The Faroe Islands, Iceland and Greenland. Today Iceland is an independent country and The Faroe Islands and Greenland are part of Denmark though they are given a wide-ranging autonomy. Having traveled to the aforementioned countries it was only fitting, thus, that I would eventually set foot on the land where the Vikings set sail from. After experiencing the dramatic scenery, the respect its people have for nature and its exemplary capitol I ask myself, "what took me so long!?"
